There is no way a scan is going to be better than the original its scanned from.
Unless you expect somebody to retouch 11,000+ pages you will be happy with this package.
It's looks exactly like you remember the original comics.
I'm delighted with this DVD and am delighted there's no more DVDs like this being produced.

The Bad: The scans are of old comic books (not the Marvel original artwork) and they include the staple holes! They also include various graffitti such as ink stamps from a local comic book store - surely a better copy could have been found. A comparison between the first Fantastic 4 comic online at Marvel.com and the same comic on DVD shows that the online version is much more vibrant and colorful. I'm very glad that I bought this item, but I wanted to say something about the shipping of my item. I opted for the free shipping through Amazon since it was available. The box they put my item in was clearly too small and they had to crush my product's box to get it to fit in. I have never seen such a horrifying lack of concern over shipping from Amazon. I've used their free shipping several times and never had an item crushed into a too small box. I'm reluctant to use their free shipping again. ... Read More

This set has been well worth the money!! So many comics for so little money is a great deal. They are easy to navigate and extremely legible. Since I bought this set, I have bought several more and am extremely pleased with all of them.

This is one of the most wonderful ideas Ever thank you Marvel comics, thank you so much! I'm a film writer and of course I love to read and books are one thing pretty much any great peace of literature you can think is out there but comics and pulp magazines are a whole other story. That is one reason I adore these collections I can read over 400 issues any time I want! Not to mention the storage As it is I have three book shelves brimming with books and boxes and so on.
