Similar reviews were right on...product is durabable so far but the lid has trouble closing, my daughter is 18 months old and loves to play with it. She figured out right away how to get the lid to close, if you don't mind that it is a great toy. One of her favorites, but she will put it down right before it pops open...still scared of that part. Glad I purchased product, arrived on time and better looking than the clowns. For a girl it's great.

The top is difficult to close! My daughter is 2 and can not close the lid. The Jack in the box is overpriced.

I like this "Jack" in the box for what it is. It's not something that JUMPS out at my daughter and scares her, rather it's a "softer" pop out with a cute butterfly figure. This toy is great except the figure doesn't stay once you shove it back down into the box, rather you have to hold it down with one hand and shut the lid with the other. This is a pretty twist on the old "Jack-In-The-Boxes". A butterfly popping out is much nicer than a weird looking clown. My daughter likes to push the butterfly back down and start again.

I bought this for my 17 month old daughter...she loves it! It isn't scary like the clown jack-in-the-box of my day! She likes to be "surprised" by it and has mastered turning the handle to make the song play and the butterfly pop up!
