Yes, my 4-year-old loves this toy ("Can Lightning McQueen sleep next to me?"), and he can change the pieces by himself. I just wish the toy were better quality. My son does not use the monster wheels because the car doesn't roll when they are on (and it's difficult to change the wheels). The other pieces are almost too easy to change -- at least on our toy, the mouth pieces don't stay on well and we've already had one emergency search for Lightning's mouth. My boy got this for Christmas, he's nearly 4 and loves it. He does have a little difficulty with switching the wheels, but it has not detered him from playing with it. The day after Christmas it was the first toy that he asked me to get out for him.

This toy has too many pieces and no where to keep them. I had to buy my son a little carrying case with a lid to try and help him keep up with the 16 pieces that he was trying to carry in his hands.

This has got to be the best toy ever in the non diecast Cars line. My son loves to pretend like hes part of the pit crew and changing the tires and then putting on the different eyes and hoods.
It's very easy for my 2 1/2 year old to play with and he literally won't put it down!
Highly recommended and worth every cent!

This toy was a complete waste of money. I wish I had been able to see a review before I wasted my money. The wheels only work one way, when the big wheels are on, the car does not roll correctly. The parts are hard to change. My 6 yo who loves to take apart and put together dropped this car in the "couldn't care less" bin and walked away. Save your money and buy a die cast instead!
