My daughter has a collection of webkinz and interacts with her friends on the webkinz internet site. it appears to be a safe place for children to be on the internet interacting in their own non-personal social network space. The child's identity is their webkinz pet. It is today's modern beanie baby. My daughter will interact with her classmates via this site and engage in games etc.

I'm not too familiar with these so I have to only tell what I know. This was a gift to a friend's daughter who explained to me how they work. You get the animal, it is a cute stuffed animal, they enter this code in the computer and like every other stuffed animal it ends up on the bed or shelf and then they play and learn a lot of things on this "Webkinz" site that is educational.

This is a real Webkinz, the image has been copied nicely. I bought it as an addition to my collection, I am putting together a set of the originals as I find them. I am still looking for those which do not have the Magic "W". I think the Webkinz could be used as a reward to children for other accomplishments that have been well done.
