The picture of the product makes the toy appear to glow but in fact the base just blinks when you touch it...not as cool looking as the picture (same goes for the entire Brightlings line). Also, the stacking peices have a rippled edge that have to be perfectly matched up for them to stack. I don't think any baby could get this right. I bought these for my 9 month old son. He is now 14 months and still has trouble stacking these. They slide off of the base and each other really easy. I agree with the reviewer that mentioned they might make a better nesting toy.
My son used them in a completely different way for many months. He liked to carry around the little plastic cups and chew on them or set them on things. He really liked that they were see-through.

I bought this toy for my 1 year old son and as soon as I got it out of the package the three peices that you stack on top of each other fell off, they do not hold on very well at all...its just a hassle with these peices falling off all the time, my money not well spent!

This toy is very cute and both my 11 mo grandson and 6 mo niece enjoyed them. The lights are great at catching the kids eye and making them interested in getting the toy to do it again.

When I purchased this item, I thought it would light up if the individual pieces were stacked in order - as a reward for stacking correctly. Not so - the base lights up at any touch.
On a positive note, the individual pieces are just the right size for my 9 month old to get a good grasp from any direction and he enjoys spinning them on the floor...
