I bought this for my husband for christmas last year and YES he still takes it outside and acts like a child. HE LOVES it and the other adult guys love it too. Great gift for an adult guy who still thinks he's a kid!

They (I also bought an Anakin blue) live up to what I expected. The red isn't as bright as the blue one, as expected, but it still looks very good, especially in low light. I took a video in regular and very low lighting. On my machine, they really stand out. On my video they actually look like special effects! In the really low light, on video, they look like the movie.

I was impressed by this item's sound effects and how bright it was. However I purchased it in order to do numerous mundane household tasks, cutting wood, fending off wolverines, etc. After about two hours of hacking at a pine tree, it stopped functioning all together and the tree was no worse for the wear. Very disappointed.

Darth Vader is one of my all-time favorite characters and Star Wars is my favorite Movie. This Saber is AWESOME. I was surprised by how heavy the hilt is. The Blade is strong and sturdy. I love chasing my kids around the yard at night with this Saber. I am going to get my Daughter the Yoda Saber for her B-Day.
