Myth Busters, a detective series, will try to validate urban myths using every tool at our disposal. The series will be hosted by two myth busters. One is a science/technology Boffin, the other a trained Skeptic. They will investigate the claims of "True Believers". Our investigators will exmaine three myths in each hour. At the end of each show they will reveal which, if any, has a basis in solid fact. THE JET ASSISTED TAKE OFF CHEVY An Air force Sargent from a nearby base managed to get his hands on surplus JATO or Rocket Assisted Takeoff unit. He attached it to the roof of his 1967 Chevy Impala. He made sure he had a long straight road and there was nothing around. Within seconds the car was travelling at 350 miles per hour. He came to a curve in the road so he applies the brakes and of course the brakes burn out. He left about a mile of skid marks before becoming airborne and crashing into the side of the mountain a hundred or so feet up in the air. POP ROCKS AND SODA This Legend concerns a character called little Mikey who was in a US commercial for life cereals. Little Mikey wouldn't eat anything... he hated everything his parents put in front of him... But of course little Mikey loves Life Cereal. Some years later little Mikey was challenged by his friends to eat six packs of POP Rocks Candy and Six cans of soda. The carbon dioxide that makes the candy pop combined with the carbon dioxide in the soda to create so much pressure his stomach exploded and he died.

Are the Mythbusters on crack? I really like the show, and have some of their collections, which are quite nice and reasonably priced. But charging $22 for a 42 minute episode is ridiculous.
Rating is for the price, not the content, which is pretty funny.
