Besides offering full 1080p resolution the LNT4661F also features a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for rich blacks and subltle texture display, an 8ms response time panel for smooth motion, hidden side speakers, an NTSC tuner, and 3 HDMI ports.
Compared to other Samsung Models
The primary differences between Samsung's LNT4661F and the step-up LNT4665F LCD HDTV is in the contrast ratio and video processing power. The pricier LNT4665F offers a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio compared to this model's 10,000:1 ratio, and also offers full 10bit video processing over this model's 8 bit system. The more expensive model should display finer gradients of shading making for more detail in darker scenes. The video processing difference should ensure smoother motion in fast moving scenes for the LNT4065F.
Video Processing
The Samsung Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) Video Enhancer refines all analog NTSC and wideband video inputs for an overall improvement in picture quality. DNIe improves contrast, white level, picture detail and incorporates digital noise reduction to improve lower quality video inputs. The 3D Y/C digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes-over-time to dramatically reduce edge image artifacts while improving transition detail.

Per my local tv repairshop, the LCD panel is bad. Like some others noted, the problem started with a shadow on the LH side of the screen, accompanied by a lag in the TV on that side. Problem began appearing about 15 months after I purchased the product. TV became unviewable about three months thereafter. Samsung offered no concessions or discounts on the repair, as the warranty had expired after 12 months. Samsung did, however, tell me that I could have purhcased an extended warranty at the ... I bought this unit in June 2007 for $2450 from Best Buy. While it worked, it worked well.
Keep in mind, there are three main assemblies in this TV: the CPU circuit board; the power supply, and the LCD panel itself.
* Four months after I bought it, in October 2007, power supply went out and the unit died. I called Samsung and a local servicing company under subcontract to Samsung sent out a technician who replaced the power supply, under warranty.

We purchased a Samsung LNT4661 LCD TV from Amazon.com on 1-8-2008. It had a beautiful picture and we were very pleased with it. But now, one and a half years later we are very dissatisfied.
The TV has developed a problem with delamination (portions of screen have blackish streaks that turn dark bluish on blue and purplish on white). The TV is in a very sunny room and it's great because there is no glare. The picture quality is quite good and it's fairly easy to operate. The price, with shipping included, enticed 3 friends to also buy the TV from Amazon.
