Besides offering full 1080p resolution the LNT4661F also features a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for rich blacks and subltle texture display, an 8ms response time panel for smooth motion, hidden side speakers, an NTSC tuner, and 3 HDMI ports.
Compared to other Samsung Models
The primary differences between Samsung's LNT4661F and the step-up LNT4665F LCD HDTV is in the contrast ratio and video processing power. The pricier LNT4665F offers a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio compared to this model's 10,000:1 ratio, and also offers full 10bit video processing over this model's 8 bit system. The more expensive model should display finer gradients of shading making for more detail in darker scenes. The video processing difference should ensure smoother motion in fast moving scenes for the LNT4065F.
Video Processing
The Samsung Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) Video Enhancer refines all analog NTSC and wideband video inputs for an overall improvement in picture quality. DNIe improves contrast, white level, picture detail and incorporates digital noise reduction to improve lower quality video inputs. The 3D Y/C digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes-over-time to dramatically reduce edge image artifacts while improving transition detail.

We were happy with this tv for about a year and a half when a vertical line started appearing on the side of the screen. We called Samsung but since we didn't buy the extended warranty Samsung wouldn't help us and the repair is $1200 for a new panel. Who is going to pay $1200 for a tv repair? So buy the extended warranty, or better yet, don't buy a Samsung.

Had I reviewed this TV within the first year, I would've given it 5 stars. But 21 months after I purchased it, I've started having problems with the picture. When I turn it on, the screen is divided into 4 horizontal segments, with ghost shapes appearing below the images. I purchased a Samsung Lcd Tv in June 2008. It looked great ,the picture quality was great. However a week before Christmas it would not power up . No picture no sound . I called Samsung and they said take it in for service. The diagnosis was bad lcd screen , probably bad circuit board. The cost of repair is more than the cost of a new tv. I have had this unit for almost 2 years. Recently, I turned it on. It started clicking like it going to turn-on, but, it didn't. Finally, after about a minute or so of this clicking sound the TV turned on. I then went to google and did a search of "Samsung HDTV problems". I bought this TV in March of 2008. The first TV that was shipped had some sound issues and we had to return the same. The second one that was sent was fine for the next few months and then started having some picture quality issues. Since it was under warranty, the technician just replaced a part and it worked fine.
