I recommend this set to anyone who remembers the Rainbow Brite specials and wants to own them. From research, it looks to me as if this set was released in Canada and possibly for a brief time in the US. These appear to be legitimately licensed products, so don't be afraid of ordering. :) Mine arrived in great condition, and while there are sound issues (the volume on the episodes is much lower than on the disc menu), the transfer is very good. i never got to see the entire rainbow brite series when i was little because DVD's weren't even invented when i was young so star stealer movie was cut off because when my parents taped it it ran out of space kinda a dissapointment. i also had the first movie where she brought color to the world anhd she was named "wisp" before she was rainbow brite rainbow brite and i also had the birthday party special. but now i can share my memories of this series with my niece seeing that they are nowe on dvd and ... The 80's were an interesting time for children's cartoons. I was born in 1980 and was lucky enough to have Rainbow Brite, Jem and She-Ra for role models. These ladies were strong, independant and smart. They weren't the ones in distess and actually spent more time rescuing the boys! Rainbow Brite in particular was always my favorite. Recently I was looking through some old things when I had a flash of a memory of a cartoon with blonde hair and the word "rainbow". I was confused for a moment, but quickly put it aside and moved on.
