Im using this cable only long enough until I get a tv that supports HDMI. I figured for about 15 bucks (at the time), it would be a good temporary alternative to the regular standard cable the ps3 comes with, and it definately was. So far I have no complaints. It puts out as good of a video quality as you could expect from any component AV cable, but obviously not better than hdmi.
