To me, this toy is not very exciting at all. But my 4 year old loves it. It takes 2 AA batteries, and has an on/off switch on the back. When you flip it on, the wheels turn and it drives off across the floor. For the most part I guess, when it bumps against a corner, it will turn off to the side and keep going, but if it hits something head on, the wheels will just keep spinning until you turn it off. My son enjoys is 8 and loves this spider man wheeler. Its on the slower side; but surprised us as it runs on grass / dirt! We figured it wouldn't work; but it had no problems. Originally after reading reviews we thought he might push it around; but it runs just fine. Spider man is in a sitting position, although his arms do move and he can be taken off the bike. This toy is anything BUT exciting. My son got this for his birthday party and I was only happy that I wasn't the one that spent money on it. It is slow moving for starters, which was an ultimate disappointment for my 4-year-old. When it runs into an obstacle the tires just click non-stop in an attempt to get away and change direction but it never actually accomplishes this. My little ones just love this toy. They (ages 3) can turn it on and off by themselves, and try to chase it, and step on it. So far, it hasn't broken, from all the abuse they've given it.
