Interesting selection of films few have heard of. The quality of the prints transferred to these DVD's was poor to OMG - what were the last 5 words the actress just said?
I should have demanded my money back. Do not buy these disks unless you are monitored by a cardiologist.

A fine way to familiarize yourself with great movies.
A good value that should be picked up as a first step in exploring.
Some such as KC Confidential, Martha Ivers were OK while others, Too Late For Tears, DOA, Scar were no better nor worse than other PD releases I have seen.
Since viewing, I found myself purchasing a better copy of the Stranger and since some of these films are rare and classics you can't complain.
Naturally one hopes that more and more film noir gets released ... Read More

i've seen them all, and this is the best. best collection of films, best DVD transfer, audio/video, price, everything. if you want film noir, get this set.

This is a great buy for a collection of 18 film noir movies. There are lesser-known ones as well as ones that feature stars such as Orson Welles, Ava Gardner, Frank Sinatra, Ida Lupino, Mickey Rooney, George Raft, Yul Brynner and Lizabeth Scott. A few of these I'd seen before (TCM), but most were unknown to me. I enjoyed all of them. This is a pretty good collection of film noir, but the picture and sound quality and rough editing and splicing of some of the films sucks. Some of the movies are pretty cheesy,such as Too Late for Tears and The Big Bluff, and are a great reflection of how rapidly Hollywood was cranking these out postwar. Others are top notch and will be familiar to film buffs, such as D.O.A., The Strange Love of Martha Ivers, The Hitchhiker, and one of my favorite Edward G. Robinson films, The Stranger.
