I know those are big words but I think I have the best memories of great games on this system than any other. There are just so many amazing games for it. I like the original version of the ps1 better than the smaller version ( I have both). It happens to be my favorite looking system also. I could go on and on about the reasons I love this system but I'll keep it short and sweet. The Sony Playstation with a lifecycle of 1995-2000 is a system that is best well known for making itself well known by introducing Final Fantasy 7 and thus making people wanting to purchase the system. The playstation is known for rpgs, adventures, and some interesting platformers. Weird, the 1 star one seem to all be based on seller feedback.
Anyway, this is an excellent console. I recommend it, though you could just as easily get a PS2.
However, if you want the original, buy it.

The Playstation needs no introduction. It was Sony's first attempt to make a game console. The company definitely succeeded. The system's 32 bit graphics and CD Quality sound were very good for its time. Despite it's competitor, the Nintendo 64, which had better graphics, (I love this system too), oddly, didn't win the fifth generation console war like Nintendo had done for two gaming generations.
