Product Description: A new edition of the soundtrack from the 1981 movie directed by John Boorman, digitally remastered by Flying Dutchman in Amsterdam. The new disc was pressed from a glass master made from the original CD soundtrack released in very limited numbers in 1981. Theme from "Excalibur" (2:50) composed by Richard Wagner; 2. Igrayne's Dance (2:07); 3. Merlin's Spell (3:14); 4. The Siege of Camylarde (2:37) composed by Carl Orff (OFortuna); 5. A Dance at the Court of King Arthur (1:17); 6. The Lady of the Lake (1:32); 7. Lancelot and Guenevere (10:34) composed by Richard Wagner; 8. The Wedding (1:05); 9. Camelot (3:27); 10. Knights of the Round Table (0:41); 11. A Challenge to Honour (3:04); 12. Quest for the Holy Grail (3:57); 13. Mordred's Lair (1:49); 14. Perceval (11:50) composed by Richard Wagner; 15. The Land and The King (4:10); 16. The Death of Arthur (6:38) composed by Richard Wagner; 17. Alternate Theme (1:28); 18. Alternate End Titles (3:31). Total disc time: 65:53.

Very glad I finally purchased this soundtrack from the mysterious Dandalf. Odd now, how I find the Wagner and Orff utterly boring, probably since I've studied these composers forwards and backwards since first seeing this film as a lad.
But it's Trevor Jones' cues that are the real reason one should get this disc; mystical and dark, shimmering and brooding, gloriously authentic Medieval tunes that bring back images from the film moreso than the bleeding chunks of Wagner and the over ... Read More

I know that many of you, like me, bought what they thought was the 'soundtrack' to Excalibur on vinyl back in the 80's. It had the picture from the movie poster on the cover. A 'real' soundtrack never came out. All you saw at best were collections of the classical music in the film.
THIS is the REAL Excalibur soundtrack!! All the music that you know and love and heard in the movie and even a track or two that didn't make the film. I got my copy from Dandalf a few years ago and have never ... Read More

As many others, I was delighted to see this soundtrack re-issued, it is magnificent, in every aspect. Still, I am a bit confused since I have a
vinyl soundtrack,(unfortunately it is damaged)issued in 1981. That recording was different, few tracks now available on CD were missing, (Igrayne`s dance, The Wedding...) but on the other hand the Excalibur`s "Theme" and Carl Orff`s "Siege of Camylarde" are much shorter on CD than on vinyl.
Anyhow, great recording, although I would like to see the ... Read More

I am very delighted with this soundtrack. The audio quality is superb; you can even hear some incidental noise, during the actual recording of the film score,on a couple of the tracks. I used to look for this record in used record stores and now am very happy that I own it. Thank you.

Very awesome soundtrack. Also very rare. If you see it get it. You will be one of the few proud owners of it.
