I have had two sent to me and I have returned both. The first was of such poor quality that parts were not lined up properly, paint and hand drawn pencil lines were sloppy and paint had chipped away from body. I returned it and the second one that was sent to me had no base and again poor craftsmanship. At 500.00 this would be a pretty good deal not 1200.00.

I've studied this ship for almost 40 years, bulit countless models over those years, bought sets of blueprints and even made several pilgrimages to the Smithsonian to veiw the original 11 foot studio miniture. This replica nails the details, from the spinning lighting effect of the warp engines to the "battleship" gray coloring,to the grating texture under the impulse deck,to the subtile weathering effects and so on. The Master Replicas Enterprise has been shipped at a snail's pace and there have been issues with some if the ships being returned and replaced for new ones. The ship is not as bad as other people reviewing above me have made it out to be. I suggest to anyone seriously thinking of putting down the money for one of these ships, I bought the $2,000 version btw, check the Master Replicas forum on their website and post up, get the opinion of more owners beside me and the other reviewer, view pictures posted ... I bought one of these directly from Master Replicas. Number 44/1250 to be exact. Up close it does not look nearly as nice as the little pictures allow you to imagine it will look. Problems I saw on mine:
- The base is black, and the paint is so thin in one place around the top edge that the material underneath shows through. (BTW, the base doesn't look like the one pictured here.
