Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Disappointing
The movie started out with low quality and seemingly poor acting abilities. I gave it only one star because of the extremely foul language which is normally only found in rater "R" movies. This picture was not rated. My "TV Guardian" filter would not remove the offensive language. I didn't finish watching it as I try to watch morally uplifting movies in my home.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Very fine gem of a movie, without much depth or character development
While I wont agree with Mr. Grady "Amazon" Harpee, that the cast is 'extraordinary," I will share his accolades by agreeing that the film indeed was a rare gem. The kind of film that you love to find while perusing channels on some idle, rainy Sunday, and there pops a film that the masses haven't seen and our friend A.O. Scott hasn't butchered in the Times.

While Hoskins role as the less than realistically, maniacally brutal Sharkey, may have been well done, the flip-flopping of his ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Nice movie about not-so-nice experiences
There are so many things happening in the world we really don't want to know about. This movie tells a story about trafficking children to Europeans, but it's entertaining & nicely done. Almost 5 stars.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A must see! Americans have no idea how nasty the world can really be.
This film is not just great because of Bob Hoskins, or Sergiusz Zymelka's stellar performances or because of great directing by Tomasz Wiszniewski. This story shows how desperate and tragic, yet normal life is (for those living in such situations) and how cruel it can be in impoverished war torn countries run by military fanatics. This is a truly heartwarming story of a merchant of flesh who, through his relationship and travails with his merchandise ends up unwittingly and somewhat unwillingly ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - An Unexpectedly Beautiful, Tender Tale in Time of War
WHERE ESKIMOS LIVE is one of those surprise films that appears out of nowhere, without ballyhoo, not apparently having been on the theatrical release circuit, yet once discovered serendipitously in the video store and watched, makes such an impact that its anonymity is a puzzle. Writer/director Tomasz Wiszniewski (with Robert Brutter sharing the writing credits) has created a unique and brave little film that takes advantage of some unknown terrain and retains the flavor of a country in all manner ...
