This film is based on Gene Byrnes' comic strip of the same name. Also it's one of Carl ''Alfalfa'' Switzer's first film roles right after Hal Roach's Our Gang comedies. Alfalfa is not the star as the dvd label implies. Instead he's reduced to a supporting role as one of the Reg'lar Fellers. It begins with a kids competition on a radio program.
