Editorial Review:
Product Description: Prey is a serious, dark story, based on authentic Cherokee mythology. Themes of sacrifice, love and responsibility are explored and the story dives into emotional territory not yet explored by similar games. Prey tells the story of Tommy, a Cherokee garage mechanic stuck on a reservation going nowhere. His life changes when an otherworldly crisis forces him to awaken spiritual powers from his long-forgotten birthright. Abducted along with his people to a menacing mothership orbiting Earth, he sets out to save himself and his girlfriend and eventually his planet. Tommy has a sidekick, a spiritual hawk that can help him fight enemies and decipher the alien language of the living ship.

At a budget price, this game was a fun shooter for a run through. It has a unique portal element and world re-orienting aspect. You can walk up walls and ceilings on special tracks as the world changes what is up, down, left, and right which is unique. The portals can help you jump to various places and is unique. But overall it is a very average game. I had fun playing it, but have nothing to rave about it or say against it. I never found it boring, but also didn't find it super exciting. ... Read More

I was pleasantly surprised when I purchased this game (for $10) and found the look and feel to be similar to other sci-fi horror games I love like Doom 3, Quake 4 and Dead Space. Since it was in a discount bin, I expected an almost unplayable half finished game, but since it was about the cost of a rental, I bought it anyway and it has been worth every penny. It seems very complete without glitches, mechanics and physics are top notch. It is more of a thinking mans FPS though, since you are required ... Read More

I just picked this up because of the price and didn't expect much, but I was surprised. The graphics are a little dated, but the mechanics are solid and the storyline is really creepy. Make sure to stop and listen to the radio broadcast from Earth--your que will be an image of Earth. These little radio transmissions are solid gold.

Very good FPS based on Native American spiritualism and a horror style alien abduction story. Pretty good boss fights, a Doom 3-like approach to gameplay and some challenging environment puzzles that take significant inspiration from the Ratchet & Clank series (think ceiling walking). An excellent rental or cheap buy.

The game itself has pretty good graphics and isnt bad for something to do. it does kinda feel like your really doing the same stuff over and over but its not miserable. its worth beating once at least
