Editorial Review:

Product Description:
When Brier (Pell James), a successful New York model, moves to Los Angeles to act, the last person she expects to see is Luke (Steven Strait), a stranger with whom she had a chance encounter on the New York City subway years before. The talented struggling musician has been smitten with beautiful Brier ever since that magical moment on the subway, but much to Luke's dismay, Brier has sworn off musicians after dating a philandering British rock star. Brier puts her attraction to Luke on the back burner and instead enlists their mutual friend, fellow acting student and singer Clea (Ashlee Simpson), in a guerilla public relations campaign to get Luke noticed and jumpstart his career. Secretly using their contacts and friends in the modeling, acting, and music worlds to build "buzz" about Luke, they make him an overnight sensation, and he soon has a recording contract. Unfortunately, the campaign works too well, and upstanding Luke is quickly caught up in the frenzied world of hot young stardom, complete with a Brazilian model girlfriend (Shannyn Sossamon). Even his globetrotting brother, Euan (Kip Pardue), who has landed a gig in L.A. in a 1970s cover band, begins to wonder what happened to the Luke that he knew and loved. As Luke's fame continues to grow, Brier worries that he will end up a rock star cliché with a woman in every port, and continues to distance herself. Is undeniable chemistry enough to calm her fears and bring the two together, or are Luke and Brier destined for a life apart? Directed by Meiert Davis (FAR FROM HOME), UNDISCOVERED also stars Carrie Fisher as Brier's sage agent and mentor, Fisher Stevens as a slimy music executive, and Peter Weller as an ultra-cool music legend.

Amazon.com:
Forging love out of the cutthroat entertainment industry is the theme of this MTV-style feature film starring Ashlee Simpson in a supporting role. Pell James plays aspiring actress Brier Tucket who falls for fledgling songwriter Luke Falcon (Steven Strait) in a fleeting moment of New York subway chaos. Fate reunites them in Los Angeles where their friendship deepens as they struggle to establish careers in an industry known for fraud, favors, and elusive fame. Simpson steps up to the microphone for a couple of breathy ballads, yet her acting is wholly forgettable as the one-dimensional Clea. More noteworthy are the standout performances by Kip Pardue, as Luke's wacky brother Euan; and Carrie Fisher, who adds panache as Brier's acerbic agent. Originally titled "Wannabe," the movie was renamed Undiscovered to spotlight Simpson's song of the same name--and the film's soundtrack is decent--yet no amount of music will prop up the story's overall flimsiness despite the intentions of veteran music video director Meiert Avis. Rated PG-13 for sexual and drug content and partial nudity. --Lynn Gibson

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Ashlee, Trashlee
I used to be a huge fan of Ashlee Simpson. But I have no idea what went wrong. For heaven sakes, I even seen her in concert. But it all disappeared. She just has one of those personalities that's so obnoxious, like when she was asked if she was pregnant she said "you`ll have to see." Shut the heck up woman and answer the question, I mean seriously. Her music is OK, but I start this movie ever so often and I just fall asleep when its not even the middle and I try so hard to stay awake. I bought it ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - OY, the pain!
This movie was truly awful and a waste of time. It has a very typical and predictable plot. It's a "boy meets girl, boy meets girl again, boy loses girl, boy finds girl again." A moron could write this storyline. Let me just say one thing: Stephen Moyer and Carrie Fisher must have owed an agent money to be put in this awful piece. It's a waste of their talent and an embarrassment to their careers. I was cringing for the both of them.

Do not waste your money. Get something with ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - "Undiscovered" is a super romance which touches the heart .
You will watch this movie over and over again. 'just the right choice of actors for each part, and I'll search for these actors in other movies, both now, and in the future. An appealing and convincing movie. I was so convinced of the truth of this story, that I inquired about a "Mr. Treadway" and the businesses depicted, from an LA friend in the audio field.
This dvd has been touted to friends who have young family members, as high standards were followed in the making of the film.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - ROCK STAR 2....?
Absolutely boring, and with an enerving camera style, this is one of the worst movies i've ever seen. The plot and characters are absolutely stupid and predictable, and even worst, they don't evolved a little bit in all the entire movie.
The best part is the skateboard dog and the goods looks of Steven Strait, but if you really wanna enjoy him, i better recommend you THE COVENANT. Is the typical horror flick, but at least, is not so presumptuos that this one.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Undiscovered DVD
The movie is kind of cheesy. It wasn't really great, but Steven Strait is an excellent actor, not to mention a total hottie so it was definitely worth it.
