Product Description: While trying to save the family farm, cousins Bo Duke, Luke Duke, and Daisy Duke stay one step ahead of Boss Hogg and Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane in their 1969 Dodge Charger, \""The General Lee.\"" Genre: Feature Film-Action/Adventure Rating: UN Release Date: 4-SEP-2007 Media Type: DVD
Amazon.com: The teaming of Johnny Knoxville (Jackass: The Movie) and Seann William Scott (Dude, Where's My Car?) as well as the presence of the '70s-flavored car chases that were a specialty of the TV series guarantees that The Dukes of Hazzard will be even more lowbrow than the CBS TV series (1979-85) that inspired it. However, this brain-damaging comedy is more "rehash" than "remake," as good ol' Georgiaboys Luke Duke (Knoxville) and his cousin Bo (Scott) are frequently upstaged bythe General Lee, the Confederate-flagged '69 Charger that they drive, jump, race, and fly in as they smuggle moonshine for their Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson). Meanwhile, cousin Daisy Duke (Jessica Simpson) is reliably available to model her short-shorts (aka "Daisy Dukes") and awesome figure (and let's face it, Simpson's talents pretty much begin and end right there), while corrupt honcho Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds, who should know better) recruits a local NASCAR star to advance his wily scheme of converting Hazzard County into a strip mine. Director Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers) manages to mine some good-natured humor from the movie's oval-track detour and a few colorful supporting players (notably Kevin Hefferman as the Duke's pal Sheev). Otherwise, consider yourself warned: The Dukes of Hazzard is shameless Hollywood product at its most forgettable, trafficking in shameless white, rural Southern stereotypes. If you can make itto the end, there's a blooper reel to reward your endurance. --Jeff Shannon
DVD features Yes, the unrated edition of The Dukes of Hazzard has nudity... but no, it's not of Jessica Simpson, but topless sorority girls. There are also two sets--"PG-13" and "unrated"--of deleted scenes and bloopers. The four minutes of unrated deleted scenes (supplementing the 25 minutes of "PG-13" deleted scenes) include more sorority girls and a menage à trois for Johnny Knoxville . The five minutes of unrated bloopers (the same amount as the "PG-13" bloopers) feature a few more girls but mostly bad language. Featurettes discuss the Daisy Duke short shorts (and show how you can make your own), car stunts, and the making of the movie (narrated by a cast member of the original TV series). --David Horiuchi

The movie plays out like a two part episode of the television version of The Dukes of Hazzard. Boss Hogg is conspiring against the Dukes like always while running some under the table dirty dealings. The thing that was missing from this movie was the fact that none of the likable actors from the television series were in the movie. Although some of the actors in the movie did their parts decent enough I missed all the original actors and felt that nobody in the remake could hold a candle to the original ... Read More

I love the series but this movie is trash. I'm not the "car" type but the original is better. I like Jessica Simpson the singer not the actor. The base of the story is trash, the scenes, the acting...everything!! Directors should always stick with the original, and not do remakes. They always suck. Save your money America.

Not sure why all the crying and whining about the losers on here saying this was a bad movie when it was entertaining from start to finish. It had a lot of great classic rock music. The action was amazing with some of the best stunt driving you'll ever see in any movie! The movie was really funny from start to finish and Jessica Simpson was hot as hell!!! I have no idea why all the losers on here are crying about this movie but it's great!

It's been a while since I've watched this movie, and the series, but now I'm refreshing my memory! This was a very funny movie based on the classic series! Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott were hilarious together. Bo and Luke Duke help Uncle Jesse run Moonshine in the General Lee. When Boss Hogg forces the Dukes off their farm, Bo and Luke sneak around Hogg's local construction site and find samples of coal. They soon realize that Boss Hogg is gonna strip-mine Hazzard County, unless the Dukes can ... Read More

When I ordered this I couldn't hardly believe that it was actually a new product. {$0.38 + S&H), 1/3 of the original price. When it arrived I was pleasently surprise to find what looked to be a brand new retail CD. I'm very well pleased with this purchase.
Thanks Abondatrade
