The chain-driven, variable speed motor gives the Razor MX500 its kick, but because the bike is electric, the motor is super quiet; a distinct advantage over the other gas-driven and noisy scaled-down dirt bikes. The Razor's front fork is easily assembled; universal flat/Phillips head screwdriver and Allen wrenches are included.

We've had this bike for three years now. I bought it for my son to ride around the grassy hills in our yard. It has enough power to take my 10 year old son off road and up hill. The battery has not caused us any headaches (unlike with the Schwinn electric scooter or the Chinese-made mini ATV). I can see my son using this bike for many years to come.

I ordered this electric dirt bike for my son's 11th birthday. After reading the reviews of the 350 model, we decided to upgrade to the 500, even though,technically, he is young for this model. It is perfect for him, and I'm glad we got the bigger bike because he won't grow out of it immediately. Also, it has enough reserve power to get him up hills. This holds a charge for a long time. My other two childern have a Razor Sport Mod and a Bistro. This MX500 blows them away, all three ride this and the charges lasts longer than I expected. It is built very well and is durable.

My 7 yr old races motocross, this Dirt Rocket has held up great for him and gives him practice time he doesn't even realize he is getting. A+WOW for this item!

Purchased a MX500 for my oldest grandson and a MX350 for my younger grandson. Ended up replacing the 350 for another 500. Great for beginners learning to ride on closed off coarses where the fear of other vehicles hitting them is not present.
