Spike Fumo doesn't want to end up a loser like his dad, who's taking a rap in Sing Sing for local mob boss Baldo Cacetti. The tough, handsome kid aspires to boxing glory, but he's willing to throw a fight when he has to. Baldo has fatherly affection for Spike until the boxer hooks up with Angel, the don's feisty blonde princess of a daughter. When Spike and Angel won't break up, Spike is banished from Bensonhurst and he moves in with a Puerto Rican boxer and his beautiful sister. Soon Spike is father-to-be in each neighborhood, and heading for a fall with the don.

I just recently saw this movie and I love it. Several scenes were filmed in my neighborhood (Williamsburg and Greenpoint sections of Brooklyn). I was too young back then when the scenes were filmed. I think Spike is hot-looking.

IF YOU WANNA LAUGH, YOU GOTTA SEE THIS FLICK. LOW BUDGETED, YET HYSTERICAL.MAKES ME FEEL AS IF I'M BACK IN BROOKLYN. TERRIFIC MOVIE, TOO BAD IT'S NOT ON DVD. YOU WILL DEFINATELY ENJOY SPIKE, IF NOT, FUHGETTABOUDIT.

This film is one of the best; it was low-budget and tries to live up to that. I first heard of it in "Iterview", I think, probably in an advertisement; Sylvia Miles is spectacular, and Spike's mother and female lover are totally wild. It has some of the funniest dialogue I have seen. My buddy, "Bill from Cleveland", frequently phones and leaves messages quoting these amazing, tasteless scenes. Laugh? I thought I'd have to change my underwear! The scene of Spike teaching a group of latino kids the alphabet is one of the funniest ever filmed. This is a hidden gem.
