Description: The complete series on DVD for the first time!
Link is back to protect Princess Zelda and the Triforce of Wisdom from the clutches of the evil Ganon. The Legend Of Zelda – The Complete Animated Series (spawned from the massively popular and influential ‘80s Nintendo game) is an exciting classic that captures all of the adventure, action and nostalgia that makes The Legend Of Zelda a beloved fan favorite! The Legend Of Zelda – The Complete Animated Series (all 13 episodes) is available for the first time on this expansive 3-Disc Set.
The animated series The Legend Of Zelda debuted in 1989 on Fridays during The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! week-daily broadcast. It originally aired in conjunction with the first Legend Of Zelda game release and breathes life into the characters of Link, Princess Zelda and the evil wizard Ganon — fleshing out their personalities with a little bit of romance and a dash of humor.
Like the game itself, each episode follows the adventures of Link as he bravely defends the kingdom of Hyrule from the evil wizard Ganon and his dim-witted minions, yet also manages to find time to try to steal a kiss from Zelda. Amazon.com: Inspired by the popular 1980s Nintendo game, The Legend of Zelda: The Complete Animated Series contains 13 enjoyable, self-deprecating adventures featuring haughty Princess Zelda and her frustrated, would-be suitor and courageous ally, Link. Guardians of the Triforce of Wisdom, a powerful object that sits, curiously unguarded, in Zelda's castle, the stuck-up princess and grousing Link are forever fending off assaults by the evil Ganon, a sort of underworld demon. Ganon wants the Triforce of Wisdom because he possesses a similar Triforce--together, the magical items would make him all-powerful. While there's a lot of sword-and-sorcery action, the tone of Legend of Zelda's short pieces is unmistakably comic, driven by a constant and unrelieved romantic tension between the two leads. Link is constantly saving Zelda's hide, ever-hopeful of a kiss, while Zelda keeps him on tenterhooks, leading him right to the brink of satisfaction and then…well, maybe next time. Among the best episodes is "The White Knight," in which Zelda's infatuation with a vain, preening demon-slayer sends an irritated Link packing—until the interloper refuses to rescue Zelda because he might get his clothes dirty. Each episode features the original Mario Brothers introduction from the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. --Tom Keogh

I remember this when i was a kid, loved it but it was way too short.
I read a lot of the 1-3 star, people have to remember in the 80's a lot of corney cartoons were made like Mario, Q-bert, Donkey Kong, and a lot of weired stuff. what i recall of the 80's there was a lot of weird stuff that when you look back at it now looks stupied like the orginal Turtles cartoon, i still love it for the memories but it still looks cheesy in todays standerds.
This was actualy one of the ... Read More

The cartoon was just ok, nowhere close to the games though. Someone has to put up some heavy greenbacks and make a live action Zelda movie, though they would have to do it right with extremely high production values along the lines of Lord Of The Rings or The 1st and only real Never Ending Story film. It could work.

Boy, Bill & Ted must have written the script for this stoner version of Link and Zelda. It's very grating; the stories are weak, and the animation is pretty basic. Link sounds like he's just hopped off a surfboard in the late 1980s. I shouldn't have expected too much, I suppose.

I bought this movie for my son, who grew up with the
Super Mario Brothers show and Zelda's series. He loves
this DVD. If you are a big Nintendo fan, you will love
the old cartoons from the 80's

Bought this for my boyfriend, and I can't make him stop watching! He loved it a lot.
