Enchanted April is one of those films that takes you by surprise. I can only add my wholehearted agreement with the glowing reviews of this - I'm sorry - enchanting - film for adults. Lovely, touching, and spellbinding in every respect. Acting, direction, screenplay, cinematography, and Richard Rodney Bennett's magical score make this one of my favorite films.
Why, indeed, Paramount has yet to release this on DVD in the USA is an astonishing, shameful oversight.

I first saw this movie way back in 1993 while I was in college. It was a rainy afternoon - I was staying at school for spring break and I went down to the basement of the library to the AV room to watch it.
