Product Description: INSPECTOR CLOUSEAU IS PUT ON THE CASE WHEN THE PINK PANTHER DIAMOND IS STOLEN, WITH THE PHANTOM'S TRADEMARK GLOVE THE ONLY CLUE.
Amazon.com: Peter Sellers's third go-around as the prideful but bumbling Inspector Jacques Clouseau is funny enough, but this 1975 Blake Edwards revival of the Sellers-Clouseau connection is a little weak in comparison to predecessors The Pink Panther and A Shot in the Dark (both made in 1964). Costar Christopher Plummer actually gets some of the most interesting screen time as a retired cat burglar whom Clouseau accuses of getting back into the business. (If it sounds like there might be a To Catch a Thief vibe mixed in here, you're right.) Herbert Lom is hilarious as Clouseau's psychologically eroding boss, and Clouseau's ritualistic collisions with valet Cato (Burt Kwouk) are great examples of Edwards's delicious comic timing. --Tom Keogh

I bought this for my boyfriend, who is a big Pink Panther fan. He enjoyed it very much.

Inspector Clouseau is back! So is the Phantom but this time played by Christopher Plummer, who does an admirable job picking up where Niven left off. The only problem I have is what happened to Simone? Did Sir Charles have an affair between when he, his nephew and lover left at the end of the first film and now? Or is this just one of those unexplained phenomena in movies that falls under bad continuity? A small problem with an otherwise funny movie. Some of the best scenes involve Sellers and Herbert ... I watched this movie at the behest of my Father that claimed it was hysterical...ordinarily my Father and I dont see eye to eye on movies, but I gave it a shot.
I laughed so hard in parts I had to pause the movie to catch my breath. I defy you not to laugh when Sellers is attempting to act suave with a fake mustache in the club and the he gets hammered in the the face by this woman dancing and gets half his mustache knocked off......frickin pricelss.

Third in the series, The Return of the Pink Panther is just chock-full of comedy. Returning is Sir Litton, The Phantom, from the first film. Regardless, the focus of any Pink Panther film is Inspector Clouseau, and this time he is as hilarious as ever. From the moment he enters on screen to the ending shot before the credits, Peter Sellers is just flat-out hilarious. Also, Herbert Lom and Burt Kwouk were great in their roles as well. What I like the most about this movie is the pacing because there's not a moment ... Read More
