From the supplier: The television program 'Cops' has replaced the old police reporters in its coverage of modern police work. The program is a response to the lack of such reporting and to the contentious state of relations between the nation's law enforcement officers and the media. However, the program presents only the law enforcement side of each crime story, and the police representatives allowed on the program may not typify their police force. The national media errs to the opposite extreme by being harshly and sometimes naively critical of officers. Better interaction between the media and the police is needed.
