This is truly an excellent film. Bill Cosby stars as a Blue who is hardworking father. He is married to Serena, a former housekeeper who is going to school in the evening to be a nurse. I remember watching this on TV as a child! Bill Cosby stars as a struggling member of the working poor, helplessly watching his only child slowly dying of sickle cell anemia. It really is a very moving story; you get a sense of the overwhelming frustration experienced by those who never seem to get ahead, despite their hardest efforts. It's a low budget, made-for-tv, four-hanky tearjerker of the type they used to make in the 1970s, and it's great to see that it has an audience once more!
