Product Description: Is there a doctor in the house' Poor Homer Simpson isn't feeling very well, so you'd better operate quick! His comical ailments must be carefully removed or he will die laughing. From bowler's thumb to trick knees, Homer's got lots of complaints to keep lucky physicians busy. Even better, Homer talks through his operations so he'll keep you in stitches if you set off the buzzer! Requires 2 "AA" batteries (not included).
Editorial Review : This Homer Simpson version of the fabulously fun Operation game is sure to have players young and old in stitches (well, not literally, we hope). Homer is laid out on the table and amateur surgeons must take turns to operate on Homer and remove a part from his "funatomy" as directed by the playing cards. Homer’s ailments are unique and range from Bowler’s Thumb, where surgeons must withdraw a bowling pin from his digit, to Pot Belly, where a saucepot is lodged in his gut. A successful extraction earns the surgeon a significant chunk of change. However, if doctors accidentally brush the tweezers against the metal edge during surgery, a buzzer goes off and Homer’s nose lights up as he screams or says one of several trademark phrases, such as "Doh!" or "This is not good!" That’s when the big guns are called in. The player holding the Specialist card for that operation gets to attempt the procedure again—but this time for double the cash. When all of Homer’s organs have been removed, the doctor hoarding the most money is declared the winner. This Operation game is for one or more players and uses four "AAA" batteries (not included). --Cristina Vaamonde

This is a great family game. The Simpson version really cracks my daughter up, and my husband and I have fun playing it with her. It's a good game for kids for learning to be steady and to increase hand-eye coordination. Homer says some funny "Homer-ess" kinds of comments. Definitely a hit with kids.

We were so disappointed when we brought this home from the store - my childhood memories of playing Operation were crushed. The pieces are impossible to remove with the tongs! & although the Homer voice is funny, it becomes extremely frustrating to even the most steadiest of 'doctors'. My children will pull the game out & try to play but within minutes they are nearly swearing because it is so hard to get the pieces. If it wasn't for the funny voice, this would be a complete waste of money! ... Read More

We bought this game for our grandsons (11 and 8 yrs). The whole family are huge Simpson fans and they collect all Simpson games. The game was OK, but only held their interest for an hour or so and I doubt that it will ever be used very much. It was way too simple for kids their ages, but I believe younger children might enjoy it more.

My son got this for his birthday when he turned 4. He is actually very good at it. It helps him gain better control with his fine motor skills.
Unfortunately, my 2 year old daughter thought it looked like fun too. Instead of trying to play the game as it is intended, she decided to chew on the little body part pieces.
The game is rated for older children, but 4 seems like an ok age to start. Just beware of getting this game if you have smaller children around who may ... Read More

As a collector of Simpsons games it was a bonus to find this updated version to the original Operation that I loved as a kid and playing it brought back a lot of fun memories. This is one of the better Simpsons' games in my opinion. The sounds are great on this and its not hard at all to understand what Homer is saying. Also the buzzer isn't as loud as it is on the original game. Don't feel guilty about buying this if your an adult with no kids because as I said if you enjoyed the original its ... Read More
