Like the gun toted by the cowboy hero with whom it shares its name, the Maverick is a six shooter. Unlike the gun that other Maverick had, however, this weapon shoots only soft suction darts that can fly across a room and adhere to a window or other glass surface. The Maverick features a rotating barrel, which makes it easier to keep the firepower flying in the midst of heated battle and a futuristic look to better engender sci-fi fantasy play if you so choose. For a little extra power boost, the gun also has a pump mechanism. In our informal test, the darts flew surprisingly far and impressively straight. --Charlie Williams

This thing is really cool. Very easy to load(just make sure the darts are pushed fully into their slots for problem free shooting). I bought some whistling darts for my cat's enjoyment(no I don't shoot him). He loves them and chases them as I shoot them around the house. WoW! The whistling darts fly much better and faster than the originals(further distances). I suggest buying those extra darts and using them instead.

I am an 11 year old nerf fan. I got the nerf Maverick and I am in LOVE with this gun. Light-weight, durable, accurate, easy to load, quick firing, and its small. The Maverick bullets fly very fast and are difficult to dodge. This is a must have for a nerf fan.

This gun is probably one of the best guns I've ever gotten. It shoots at an accuracy of about four hits at thirty feet which is better then my Recon nerf rifle and it is very easy to cock. There is one problem with the design though. It is very hard to attach a scope or lazer sight to it because its grooves where you put the scope are on the cock system, which makes it very hard to cock. Very cool gun! I am 20 and I just horse around with my friends with it. The only problem is the barrel sometimes takes a bit to open/close. The closing problem is frustrating because you have to push the button to open AND close the barrel. This shoots very far, and does not hurt if it hits someone. It was only $10, and I think it's worth that value.

I purchased this as a distraction at my work. Foam dart weaponry makes for easy entertainment in an afternoon break. I had seen the Nerf Maverick before and when I actually examined the price tag, the decision to purchase it was easily made.
