Product Description: These are the Western adventure stories of the Cartwright family: Ben Cartwright, the father, played by Lorne Greene; Adam, the eldest son, played by Pernell Roberts; Hoss, the middle son, played by Dan Blocker; and Little Joe, the youngest son, played by Michael Landon. Each of the boys was born to one of Ben's three wives, none of whom are alive. The Cartwrights run a 600,000 acre ranch, The Ponderosa, outside of Virginia City, Nevada. This 1960s TV series depicts the stories of a single father raising his sons and helping his neighbors. FEATURING 31 EPISODES: Feet of Clay; The Last Viking; Bitter Water; The Savage; Showdown; San Francisco Holiday; The Mill; Escape to the Ponderosa; Badge Without Honor; The Blood Line; The Courtship; Death at Dawn; The Trail Gang; Denver McKee; Blood on the Land; Dark Star; Day of Reckoning; The Avenger; The Ape; Breed of Violence; Desert Justice; The Fear Merchants; The Gunmen; The Abduction; The Last Trophy; Silent Thunder; The Hopefuls; The Spanish Grant; The Spitfire; The Stranger; The Mission

31 Bonanza episodes from the first and second seasons (1960 - 1961) were accidentally allowed to pass into the public domain, enabling video companies to publish them without paying royalties. I've purchased Bonanza DVDs from a couple of different companies, and I strongly recommend this set. You'll get all 31 available episodes, four to a disc ... Read More

I bought this 8-DVD set a couple years back from Best Buy and I really love it! The picture quality is great! The only thing's I didn't like were the unoriginal theme music and the logo on screen [as the last reviewer mentioned]. I noticed that other Bonanza DVD's that I've purchased [mainly 1 dollar DVD's] by 'Digiview productions' also have unoriginal theme music in them! I can't figure out why? Even a Dan Hernandez "1 dollar" Sport Fishing DVD that I purchased by Digiview Productions has the same ... Read More

Lovers of the original Bonanza will like these episodes. The video is good, the audio is loud & clear, you don't have to turn the volume up like other dvd's but....
That wonderful theme music is missing both at the beginning & at the end - that cost this one star
BUT EVEN WORSE !!! ... (and costing another star)
The Platinum Video people must think it's OK to put their name and a logo in the bottom right of the screen. I DON'T !!!
I hate it on broadcast ... Read More
