Description: It's a harrowing trip through the colonies of the Commonwealth of Virginia for Sarah and James. Arriving in Virginia, their spirits are lifted when they witness Patrick Henry's famous declaration, "Give me liberty or give me death." Their incredible adventure continues as Sarah reluctantly sets sail to her native England, only to be rescued at sea by the great naval commander, John Paul Jones. When Jones' ship takes on water in a battle against the powerful British Navy, the British Captain demands their surrender. Sarah watches with admiration as the courageous Hones responds with his famous words, "I have not yet begun to fight."

As a 5th and 6th grade social studies teacher, I find this video series excellent. It has all of the accurate, historical information the students are required to learn and includes a perfect amount of entertainment value to keep their interest. I recommend this series for any elementary social ... Read More

Despite what the previous reviewer said, I own this DVD and it has all the extra features (Now and Then, Liberty News, Biographies, etc., etc.) included as bonus DVD features in a seperate listing - not in the body of the tv episodes themselves. Since the previous reviewer didn't see them their, he assumed they were taken out of the DVD & he got cheated. This is not true. I watched the bonuses myself today.

the cartoons keep my kids and my wife and I always interested. It is a good way for kids to learn about our nations history, while having some fun. I just wish they would release the whole series.

.....but the DVD collections turned out to be horribly disappointing. My rating is not directed at the show. It is directed at the DVD series itself. Someone really dropped the ball on what could have been a fabulous dvd collection.
So far there are Volumes 1, 2 & 3. Each volume includes five "playing cards" of George Washington, Phyllis Wheatly, Abigail Adams, John Paul Jones & Ben Franklin. This is a fabulous idea..BUT the problem is that the five playing cards are all the same in each ... Read More
