I WISH I HAD READ REVIEWS BEFORE I PURCHASED IT. We bought this for our daughter. The dvd player worked for less than a week. Fortunately (?) the seller took the item back and sent another. It lasted about one month. Obviously the dvd electronics in this system are substandard. Everything works excepting the dvd. Also the set we bought in 2007 will not be compatible with local channels. My daughter loves all things Hello Kitty and when she wanted a television for her newly decorated bedroom, she fell in love with the Hello Kitty TV/DVD combo at first site. Her smile upon seeing it in her bedroom lasted for about three months. She initially used it for watching the television, but as soon as she attempted to use the DVD, things began to go from smiles to tears. WE BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT AS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR OUR LITTLE GIRL. AFTER ONE WEEK, IT WENT TO A COMPLETELY BLACK AND WHITE PICTURES, ON WEEK TWO, THE DVD PLAYER STOPPED WORKING. WE PAID 50 BUCKS TO SEND IT BACK FOR A REPLACEMENT, THEY DIDN'T SEND OUR REMOTE BACK AND NOW ON THE SECOND TV, THE DVD PLAYER WON'T OPEN AND CLOSE, SO THE SAME MOVIE HAS BE STUCK IN THE TV FOR A WHILE. I love how beautiful this product is...It really looks amazing in my daughters room. I am not impressed with the quality of the product. The DVD cover was off before I even took it out of the box. When her DVDs play it sounds like an engine revving up...the keys on the remote are ridiculously small and it took forever to open the battery compartment due to the small screw. This product means well but would benefit form a more quiet operation and better development.
