Most of these songs can be found on other CD's or compilations. It's always good to hear a new arrangement. And it's a real kick to hear the DOOO-WAAAA-OOOOOOH background singers that where so popular in the 50's. Rosemary is in fine voice here. Definitely something to add to your Clooney collection.

I am a huge fan of Rosemary Clooney and Judy Garland, so anytime a new cd appears for them I will typically buy it so long as I don't already have at least a few of the tracks on the album.
To be honest, when I bought this cd I really wasn't expecting much, because: 1) the low-quality cover art and 2) the reference to the TV show. I thought the sound was going to be awful, but I had to have it anyway.

Movie The Lake House played on multiple consecutive flights I took to be with my mother while she lay dying. Rosemary Clooney's nostalgic voice singing There Will Never Be Another You on the soundtrack is forever linked with memories of mom.
There Will Never Be Another You is not on the sountrack album, and this cut is not the nuanced melancholy played in the movie, but Clooney's voice and words are moving nonetheless.

Many of the songs in this collection are songs which Rosemary Clooney made famous. The versions here are not the ones that charted, but remakes which she did as part of her 1956 TV show --- and all I have to say is that they sound DIFFERENT, but still great! I would normally consider that "not the original version" means "watch out!" but I really liked this CD. If you like Clooney, don't be afraid to get this CD; if you are too young to remember, listen to this to hear what a great voice she had.

I've been hesitant to purchase this CD outright, but finally did. What was I waiting for? This will probably become my all time favorite Rosie album of her 50s sound, as I've been playing it for two solid days. Her 1956 series was out two years prior to my first appearance in this world.
