Description:
This exciting half-hour western series debuted on ABC in September of 1956 and ran until August of 1958. Scott Forbes filled the starring role of Jim Bowie, the nineteenth-century American adventurer who invented the knife that bears his name. One of the early TV shows to catch flack for its frequent use of "the knife," led to a cutback in screen violence as the series progressed. Though Scott Forbes (British by birth) was the only regular on the show, he did not appear in every episode but was supported by a strong revolving cast of guest stars. I'm interested in Bowie and wanted to see this show for the first time but didn't know about the episodes or picture quality. Thanks to Amazon and Robert's review I now know that the quality is good and that episode one of the show can be found on a DVD by Alpha which is also sold by Amazon! Very helpful. Thanks!

Here are 13 episodes on DVD of the classic TV Western, "The Adventures of Jim Bowie," that ran on ABC from 1956 to 1958 for a total of 76 episodes (some references suggest that 78 episodes were produced).
