I don't care what the other's say, it's memories of my younger days watching the B/W movies.
Ma and Pa Kettle will always be worth watching, along with the rest of those type of movies.

Betty MacDonald's poular novel "The Egg and I" became a popular film that introduced Ma & Pa Kettle and their brood of 15 (or is it 16?) children. Like the dwarfs in "Snow White", they were an instant hit, and Universal exploited that popularity in nine more films. (The last two are not included in this series.)

The Egg and I is a rarely shown movie on TV, so when I found out that it was on DVD I ordered it. Yes it is a chick flick, but it is a good way to spend a relaxing moment that makes you laugh. It is strange to think that Betty MacDonald wrote the story from her own experience, and that there was a family like the Kettles (which I am sure is an alias).
If you like old movies, try it, you might like it.

Excellent. I have wanted these movies for along time they bring back fond childhood memories of watching movies on TV on a Saturday afternoon. Full of laughs and truely enjoyable classics.

I am not able to rewiew this purchase because I wasn't able to watch it, because it was not an 'all regions' DVD. I will not be making any futher purchases of DVDs from Amazon.com
