Editorial Review:
Product Description: BROADWAY MUSICAL BASED ON THE LITTLE ORPHAN ANNIE COMIC STRIP. A YOUNG ORPHAN GIRLS ADVENTURES IN FINDING A FAMILY THAT WILL TAKE HER.
Amazon.com: Charmless and dull, this adaptation of the Broadway hit stars Aileen Quinn as the depression-era moppet, Albert Finney as Daddy Warbucks, Carol Burnett as the cruel headmistress at an orphanage, and Tim Curry as a villain. The film never gets its legs, and there is no sense of setting; it's almost as if the whole thing is happening in a void. John Huston nominally directed--no doubt to make money between his smaller, cheaper masterpieces--but one would have thought he would invest something of himself in here. --Tom Keogh

A textbook example of how to ruin a successfull stage musical by translating it to the screen. Pad out the plot to inordinate length, replace some of the best songs with third rate ones, add all sorts of unnecessary embellishments to the plot, etc. Pass on this, and go for the 1999 Disney version, which is far superior.

I've always loved this movie. The anniversary edition is great with a super presentation by the lady that played the part of Annie.
Carol Burnett and Annie steal the show but the entire cast is great.
You'll love it too!

My 2 year old granddaughter loves all the music, well worth watching with younger kids. Purchased as a present for her.

Lots of cussing, using God's name in vain. Drinking. Smoking. Mean guy tries to kill Annie. Woman wears very immodest night gown in one scene.
