What can I say about this set. These have been remastered, so they don't look all washed out like the Hallmark channel reruns... There are gems of these shows that the reruns cut out to play ads that you can see on the DVDs. No real extras to speak of, which is no biggie, but unlike the later season DVDs, the early seasons do not get the "Play All" option in the menu... A pity that is lacking.

What's not to love? If you enjoyed the TV show, you'll love having this set. Hawkeye, Radar, Klinger, the whole crew...now you don't have to wait for re-runs!

I picked this up around a year ago and it is fantastic. The quality of DVD's is excellent. If you are a MASH fan, I recommend 1-4. I am a Alan Alda and Wayne Rogers fan. If you like to watch these two guys teamed up, then pick up Seasons 1-4.

The program was phenomenal, and may very well be the best TV has ever had to offer. The subjects was serious, and the atrocities ... Read More

The very early episodes of M*A*S*H* are interesting because the show started out as a situation comedy (which eventually turned into a dramedy series). The characters of Hawkeye Pierce(Alan Alda) and Trapper John(Wayne Rogers)were clownish and the early storylines were more of an "Animal House" mentality. The most interesting aspect is the early incarnation of the character "Radar O'Reilly" (Gary Burghoff) who is basically the same as everyone else (as he is played in the film version- - Burghoff was ...
