A very fine DVD and a great movie. All you really need to know is
its another great Roy Rogers movie. The DVD is great as is the sound.

This is one of my favorites. It co-stars Gail Davis (later to become "Annie Oakley" on 1950's TV) and Clayton Moore (later to become the "Lone Ranger"). There is a wonderful sequence with Roy singing "On the Trail to Monterey" to a smiling Gail Davis. She even sings some harmony on it. Also, Andy Devine plays Roy's comical sidekick "Cookie". A must see for all Roy Rogers fans.

Roy goes after smugglers, bringing in criminals hiding out in empty drums across the Mexican border. Clayton Moore(TV's later Lone Ranger,co-stars.

An hour spent with Roy in one of his classic Republic outings is ALWAYS well spent, and this is no exception! This time Roy is up agianst ruthless smugglers led a slimey villian (Ah, Roy Barcroft!) and the action is almost non-stop.
This one features Andy Devine (an OK sidekick) and a pre-Lone Ranger role from Clayton Moore. When I see Moore in these unmasked roles I am always struck by how charismatic and engaging he could be-- he really had a great presence as an actor!
