I bought one of these with my xbox thinking I needed it for dvd playback. I got my xbox soft modded and it has absolutely NO use now. It will NOT let me use this remote anymore. I use the controller to control dvd playback, so if you are planning to get your xbox modded then DON'T buy this, as you will have no use for it either. Other than that, I suppose it would work great.

Great product. Not common product found in retail store(s). All you need is a XBox & 2 AAA batteries & you're good to go. Good Deal!

This is a great remote for the xbox. Instead of buying a new DVD player, I can just use the xbox remote. Decent price.

This remote really works! I plugged in the adapter into the 4th hole and put a DVD disc into it and it works. Just make sure that the adapter is pushed in all the way, because I didn't at first and the Xbox would not play a DVD movie disc. This kit must be another way for Micorsoft to make more money, forcing people to buy this to watch standard DVD movie discs.
This is a must for Xbox owners.
