I needed a simple remote for my mother (she didn't like those with too many functions- too confusing for her). This was perfect- only ON/OFF, volume UP/DOWN, channel UP/DOWN, and numbers to punch in channel #. Numbers and +/- were large enough for her failing vision.

I bought this remote as a replacement for my Haier TV. It didn't work when I tried to set it up so I called customer support. After being put on hold for quite a while, they did nothing but tell me that it's not guaranteed to work on all TVs.
So, if you have a Haier TV, don't get this remote.

I bought this to control my new Sylvania LCD TV, and I tried to get it to work for an hour with no luck. I called Sony, they were no help. I called Sylvania, they were no help. And this remote doesn't even have a light on it to see if it is actually working. Come to find out, it was manufactured in 2003--why are they still selling this at retail stores???

Could not use remote with digital cable box. Analog only. Did not know that before purchase, did not see analog only until reading directions for programing.

Bought this remote for elderly grandmother when the 6 button remote proved difficult for her to see the imprinted volume/channel buttons. Drawback of the remote, the unneccessary buttons. Elderly have tendency to hit more than one button which causes the remote to freeze until tv button is hit again. If they the combine the 6 button remote with the large volume and channel buttons on the Sony that it would be perfect.
