The movie started out with low quality and seemingly poor acting abilities. I gave it only one star because of the extremely foul language which is normally only found in rater "R" movies. This picture was not rated. My "TV Guardian" filter would not remove the offensive language. I didn't finish watching it as I try to watch morally uplifting movies in my home.

While I wont agree with Mr. Grady "Amazon" Harpee, that the cast is 'extraordinary," I will share his accolades by agreeing that the film indeed was a rare gem. The kind of film that you love to find while perusing channels on some idle, rainy Sunday, and there pops a film that the masses haven't seen and our friend A.O. Scott hasn't butchered in the Times.

There are so many things happening in the world we really don't want to know about. This movie tells a story about trafficking children to Europeans, but it's entertaining & nicely done. Almost 5 stars.

This film is not just great because of Bob Hoskins, or Sergiusz Zymelka's stellar performances or because of great directing by Tomasz Wiszniewski. This story shows how desperate and tragic, yet normal life is (for those living in such situations) and how cruel it can be in impoverished war torn countries run by military fanatics. WHERE ESKIMOS LIVE is one of those surprise films that appears out of nowhere, without ballyhoo, not apparently having been on the theatrical release circuit, yet once discovered serendipitously in the video store and watched, makes such an impact that its anonymity is a puzzle.
