I think one of Prince's best songs is "Electric Chair." Incredible guitar riffs, and I can never get sick of it! I also like "Partyman" and "Trust." The lyrics to "Lemon Crush" are not that great (If I was working at my jobba', i'm the victim, your the robba..") but it's still a fun Prince song. The only song I do not particarly care for is "The Future." This soundtrack will remind you of the movie, and take you back to 1989...the songs here still sound as good today as they did back then, you won't ... Read More

Prince's 1989 soundtrack to the Tim Burton blockbuster remains an engaging romp with some killer cuts. "The Future," "Electric Chair" and "Vicki Waiting" are definite highlights while "Scandalous" emerges as one of the artist's truly stellar ballads. I really loved the funky music they put in the movie when I was a kid, and I assumed it was Michael Jackson or a compliation of other 80's artists. The beats have the best 80's beats of any of the songs that came out during that time.I was excited years and years later to discover that Prince was the sole artist on this album. ... Read More

With three numbers already recorded in some form, but not released - Electric Chair (June 1988), Scandalous (October 1988), Vicki Waiting (December 1988) - before Prince undertook this project, which means he had extraordinary ESP or was using his incredible international stardom to clean out the vault and tweak material for projects outside his solo albums.
The nine tracks clock in at 42:29 and the album soared to #1 on the Billboard 200 and R&B album charts, but the results are uneven at best. ... Read More
