Based on the manga by Rumiko Takahashi, the creator of Ranma 1/2 and Urusei Yatsura, the Inu-Yasha TV series (2000) has been eagerly awaited in the U.S. Kagome Higurashi, a normal 15-year-old girl, falls down a dry well--and finds herself in the feudal past, 50 years after her ancestress Kikyo imprisoned the half-human/half-demon Inu-Yasha. Inu-Yasha sometimes feels like cross between Ranma and Blue Seed, but Takashi once again blends interesting characters, comedy, and adventure into a winning story line that is entirely her own. Kagome is a normal everyday Japanese high school student who has to constantly listen to her grandpa going on about old legends and folklore. She basically lives in a shrine with her grandpa, mother and little brother, next to a sacred tree and a mysterious well. Yeah, so what if I'm a kid?! Well, anyways, if you're looking for a new anime to watch, Inuyasha is the one!! It has great characters, great ending and beginning songs, great adventures, and great everything!! Inuyasha has romance, action, adventure, conmedy, everything you need! Inuyasha - Down the Well, Vol. 1, contains the first three episodes of the anime series. This is a wonderful, scary but enchanting series also called "a feudal fairy tale." In the first disc, Kagome and Inuyasha do not like each other at all. He even threatens to kill her. The sensitive and tender relationship between them will develop in later episodes, but not here. Inuyasha is raw, and Kagome as well is a little self-centered.
