I have never seen an episode of Dawson's Creek or any of the other shows mentioned on the CD wrapper, I have seen "All I Want", an idependant film staring Elijah Wood. Two of Evan Olson's songs ('Not What I Wanted' and 'Ticking Away'), are on the soundtrack. I love all the music in the film but Evan Olsons's stood out so I went in search of his music and found "RED". I felt like Garfield eating lasagne for the first time...had I died and gone to heaven?

it's extra fun because i know these songs from my favorite TV shows: Smallville, Alias, Felicity, Dawson's Creek, Sex and the City, etc.

Evan Olson's CD "Red" is sparkling pop, as effervescent as champagne. The CD may be titled "Red," but its cover is blue while the music pulses with energy & imagination. With 20 songs on the CD, it's an ambitious effort. Five of the songs are my favorites. A lot of music here... Evan writes some extraordinary songs, and has a lot of instrumental talent as well. Although the CD is a little on the "pop" side, the breadth of his talent shines through. Buy this!

Evan has loaded up his third album with 21 really good pop songs!
I am well aware of Evan's musical past and I do think he's softened up a bit from the days as the Majosha frontman. Layin' down the funk! And then he moved on to Bus Stop (a solid rock band) as the lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist.
And since he went solo he cleaned up his sound, softened it up a bit and is now gearing it up for pop radio. Not a bad thing. Just another step in Evan's musical evolution.
