Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Experience Carter Wong's awesomeness
Carter Wong's dad is killed by one of the 8 Masters when he is just a little kid. Who are the 8 Masters? They are a bunch of tough guys, I guess. This is a Joseph Kuo movie, so it doesn't have the greatest depth to it. Carter Wong trains his whole life to become a kung fu master, but he doesn't want to fight the 8 Masters once he is grown up. But the 8 Masters really want to fight him, and they end up forcing Carter to fight. This is where the movie gets good. The last 30 or 40 minutes is pretty ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome Carter Wong Style...; He Delivers Everytime.
Oh My God..., What Can I Say...?! Carter Wong Delivers Everytime. I'm Just So In Awe Of This Movie, I Can't Even Say Much More. You've Gotta Go Get It...!!! Ugh...!!! Carter, You're Simply The Best !

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Old "Skool" KUng Fu!!
,,I do agree with the previous 3 reviewer,,,this flick is a water-down, monday night quarterback, and pre-modonna version of the 18 brondsmen,,,,a poor idea of a sequal. However, don't get me wrong,,,this flick is still a great watch,,,,as it's well choreographed and beautifully put together. The fight scenes are simply amazing,a very tight plot,,,truly an entertaining and brilliant performance by Cater Wong!!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - A Shaolin graduate vs. 8 Masters in exciting kung fu tale
EIGHT MASTERS (1977) is part of the 18 BRONZEMEN series of kung fu films produced in Taiwan by Joseph Kuo. Not exactly a sequel to the previous films in the series (although it was long available only in a ... VHS edition under the title, 18 BRONZEMEN 3), it nonetheless features series regular Carter Wong as a student who undergoes years of training at Shaolin Temple, beginning as a child, and graduates by fighting the 18 Bronzemen in a series of contests. After the first half-hour, the story takes ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Slow paced 2nd sequel marginally related to previous 2 films
Star Carter Wong and director Joseph Kuo team up once again for ostensibly the third of three installments of the 18 Bronzemen. While Bronzemen 1 and Bronzemen 2 are heavily laden with 18 Bronzemen confrontations and trips through the cavernous chamber of Bronzemen in spectacular satisfyling choreography and attentive to the mystique and pageantry of the Bronzemen themself, this film seems like the odd man out. The story and characters are different, but thats OK. But after a brief set-up, Carter ... Read More
