I heard this Cd again while surfing the net looking for new artists. Instantly I was pleased with what I heard. Everything is so well put together (the arrangements, lyrics, and then her voice tops it off by soothing the soul). She is in the elite class. I hope this Systa' goes places, and gets the recognition that she is due!

I really like Angela Johnson's voice and her songs are great. I think I would have rated this cd between 4 and 5 stars (5 for her voice and 4 for the songs), but I only rated it 3 stars because of the annoying interludes that she places at the end of many of her songs. If these were done on separate tracks so you program them out, this would be fine - but it doesn't make me want to hear the cd over and over again.

If you're reading this review, you must be a real soul music connoisseur. Angela Johnson is virtually unknown here in the US. She is the singer of the band Cooly's Hotbox (also unknown in the US unless you're into very underground urban music). Their song "Make Me Happy" is one of my all time favorites.
