Jack Teagarden is in prime form on this CD. There are a few standards here, notably Stars Fell on Alabama and I Gotta Right to Sing the Blues. Most of the selections are popular songs of the day, and are quite forgettable. What is memorable is the verve and savvy of the Teagarden band. They play with vigor and a beautiful tone.
