Product Description: MODEL- 80197 VENDOR- ACTIVISION FEATURES- Spiderman The Movie Game Lets face it. Super heroes dont come much cooler than Spider-Man. His costume is rad, his sense of humor is spot-on, and he can bench- press 10 tons. If you could bench press 10 tons, do you think youd be using your powers for good instead of evil? Think about it. Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is one swell super-freak of nature. Activision, who has already released one killer Spidey game for Nintendo 64 and numerous Spider-Man titles for Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance, is now bringing the arachnid hero to Nintendo GameCube. This time, Spideys adventure is based on the feature film Spider-Man, starring Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe. * Even if you never step foot in a theater to check out the flick, the game will give you a serious dose of the web-swinging style found on the silver screen. The game starts just as Spider-Man is beginning to discover his new super powers. You get to guide a street-clothed Peter Parker as he swings high through the city sky. As the game progresses, so does Spideys fashion sense. By the time you dig down a few levels into the game, youll be sporting the slick Spidey suit which we all know and love. * Spider-Mans ultimate foe in both the movie and the game is the Green Goblin, but as you might expect, there is an army of lesser-known thug
Amazon.com Review: Spider-Man: The Movie brings your friendly neighborhood web slinger to life with engrossing realism, proving that a superhero game of such complex nature can be achieved with nearly flawless and nonintrusive gameplay. Be it wandering the city's environs in search of villains, or just checking out your surroundings by web-swinging high above them, you truly can do whatever Spider-Man can. It's all here: high-flying aerial battles, the ability to web up and yank your enemies close for pummeling, and the capacity for crawling or web-zipping up, down, and over any surface--and that's just for starters. All in all, this is one involved game that does not fail to live up to the hype.
The game parallels the motion picture's story line, steering you through a progression of challenges that begins with the hunt for Uncle Ben's murderer, and ends with a final showdown with the Green Goblin. You begin as Peter Parker dressed in his wrestling costume and must defeat a variety of thugs throughout each level before advancing to the next set of challenges. The game gets progressively tougher as you encounter, in turn, Shocker, the Vulture, Scorpion, and, of course, the Green Goblin.
Visually, Spider-Man is a treat: cityscapes unfold in realistic detail and are enhanced by sunlight shining between buildings; cutscenes offer seamless animation; interiors are painstakingly re-created; and Spider-Man and his enemies are well rendered, moving about the screen in clean fashion. As an added bonus, most characters are voiced by their movie counterparts, and the training mode features the sarcastic wit of Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell. --Larry White
Pros: - Detailed controls bring Spider-Man to life
- Challenging gameplay enhanced by numerous fight styles
- Stunning visuals at every level
Cons: - Camera angles slow to respond at times
- Some interiors too dark
- Repetitive one-liners
Note: This review refers to the PlayStation2 version of this game.
Amazon.com Product Description: Spider-Man: The Movie allows fans to play as Spider-Man in several highly detailed 3-D environments inspired by the Columbia Pictures/Marvel Entertainment live-action feature film (due for release in May of 2002). This full-roaming action-adventure game allows players to jump into the suit of a fledgling Marvel superhero and learn how to battle the forces of evil. Players crawl, leap, and swing from the dizzying heights of skyscrapers to catch criminals and supervillains, and, ultimately, come face-to-face with the Green Goblin in a death-defying display of aerial combat. During the course of the game, players must use Spider-Man's spider-sense, agility, quick wits, and strength to evade the pursuit of the bad guys and overcome obstacles.

Play as Spider-man, with all these intense features
*A big outside world which you can look at but only go to a tiny portion of.
*Swing through the skies with the speed of Granny on the porch swing.
*Try to chase villains who are much faster than you.
*Play chase levels against them over and over and over again until you memorize where they're going, because your maximum speed is far to slow to possibly catch them the way you're supposed to.
*Die instantly if ... Read More

I've had this game for about 21 months now, and it's still fun but sometimes I turn off the Game Cube when I feel like playing something else. I remember the first time when I rented this game a few years ago, I was like wow, this game is so much fun!
Pros.
- You can unlock the wrestling suit and Peter Parker by completing the game on easy, Alex Ross Spiderman suit on normal, and the Green Goblin on hard
- The Graphics are great
- The Green Goblin battles are great ... Read More

Great game! My 4yr. LOVES it! Plays it almost every day! The graphics are really nice and there are 3 levels (easy, med, hard), so he can play it differently as he gets older. Good buy!

Spider-Man the Movie game for Game Cube had the potential to be great, but falls short due to the fact that Spiderman is a wimp and a sucka that can be beaten up by a street thug in this game. By the way, I have had to write this review more than once as it seems like my previous review has been accidentally deleted or something of the sort so I am going to keep it short this time. The game follows only parts of the movie and has a few additional supervillians: Shocker, Scorpion, and Vulture. ... Read More

This game isn't nearly worth what I payed for it. The camera for the game is backwords and you can't fix it, and it has other camera glitches that get very irritating. I decided to get a cheat so I could play the last level instead of wasting my time, but five minutes looking for the cheat wasn't worth playing the last level. I beat spider-man 1 for the playstation 1 at least 7 times and I would recommend it instead of spider-man the movie if you have a playstation 1. (...)
