Album Description: UK two-on-one combines the popular bluegrass act's first two Elektra albums, 'Back Porch Blue Grass' (1963) & 'The Dillards Live! Almost!' (1964), both of which are out-of-print domestically. 2001.
Album Details: Doug and Rodney Dillard Left Missouri in the Early 1960's after Garnering an Audience by Appearing with a Number of Bluegrass Bands and on the Ozark Mountain Boys' Radio Program "Ozark Jubilee". They Arrived in California and were Quickly Signed to a Recording Contract with Elektra Records by Jim Swift. Shortly after That, They also Appeared on "The Andy Griffith Show" as the Darling Family. These Two Albums Are a Treasured by Fans, Since the Band was Exclusively Acoustic. Shortly after the Release of the Live Album in 1964, They Followed Bob Dylan's Lead by Amplifying their Instruments, Much to the Consternation of Purists.

I got exactly what I ordered and it was delivered in the approximate time period that was given to me. I have nothing negative to say. I had excellent service.

Back Porch Bluegrass/ Live!!! Almost!!!
An excellent re-packaging of the first two Dillards albums onto one 75 minute CD. The first a great collection of traditional bluegrass played superbly by the core Dillards quartet, and the second a live concert. Both are first class albums, ... Read More

Great bluegrass music from The Dillards. Always liked hearing them on Andy Griffith and happy to have both studio recordings and live recordings on one disc.

I had learned all the banjo riffs off these records by then, using the old tried and true method of slowing the 33 1/3 rpm vinyl to 16 rpm so you could figure out what the picking pattern was. Douglas Dillard played scorchingly fast, and no one else played like him then. He also played a Gibson banjo with a "raised" head, which had a brighter sound than ... Read More

This is a wonderful Bluegrass group. Their sound was well received in
Europe. We really enjoyed them on "The Andy Griffith Show" & were pleased
to find their records available on Amazon. Some critics suspected that their music was electronically enhanced, but after investigation found
that it was just "The Dillards" own rapid fire playing style. This music
is highly recommended for any bluegrass music fans.
