Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: The time-and-space-bending sci-fi series Farscape incorporates many an alien world and species into its action-packed adventures. As such, it's a film scorer's playbook, one that calls for everything from traditional (read: kitschy) space music to out-and-out bombast. Though a single disc, Farscape covers the show's first two seasons. The Australian composing team of SubVision (Chris, Toby, and Braedy Neal) handles the initial episodes with a heavily synthesized hybrid of percussive flourish, swooping electronic effects, and ominous choirs. By contrast, Guy Gross's second-season music is more organic and subdued, finding its dramatic tension in subtle, emotionally connected ways. --Jerry McCulley

Farscape is an overlooked gem of a sci-fi show and this soundtrack was not easy to find. It's an enjoyable grab-bag of musical styles that conveyed and enhanced the varied moods and events of the first two seasons of this Australian TV show.
Terrific stuff, I'm glad I was able to find it through Amazon because it certainly wasn't on the shelves in my local music stores.

Farscape is by far my favorite sci-fi series of all time and probably always will be, so when I saw this soundtrack I just had to add it to my soundtrack collection. The music isn't as grand as other sci-fi series or movies, but it's still great in its own right (And who really cares about that other dren anyways). I wouldn't suggest this soundtrack for non-farscape fans (if there is any out there), but for avid fans of the series its just great. The only problem I have with the soundtrack, and the ... The show has great special effects and amazing make up for the actors. It shows that even though they are many different types of beings that they are always trying to pull together for the good of the whole. It also show that they have personal problems just like ordinary people. I think the writers keep it on track by doing this. I for one vote to keep the show alive and should not be cancelled.

I'm an avid Farscape follower, and so when I found a copy of it at the local bookstore, I purchased it. It's good, diverse music, the theme song is excellant, and it makes for good background music. If you're someone who has never seen Farscape and just wants the music, I highly suggest purchasing instead either the LEXX soundtrack or the Tales From a Parallel Universe soundtrack, both of which are for the same show and have marvelous, powerful and in some cases, elegant music. (Look up the "Tales From ... Read More

The music on this compilation is simply great, even if you've never heard of Farscape. I bought this before I'd seen any of the episodes they came from (I'd seen some later episodes not represented on this CD) and it really made no difference at all. This CD stands alone - as long as you like bizarre music of no identifiable genre that just, I don't know, it WORKS. Impossible to describe.
But the CD is an added treat for Farscape fans, because I still think the first two seasons' theme was better ... Read More
